Econo West Heating & Air Conditioning is the evolution of a business that was started by one man in a van in 1972. Founder Dave Kerr spent a few years learning the business as an HVAC technician before starting out to become his own boss. He didn’t have much starting capital, but he did have one priceless guiding principle. “My mom taught me to treat people right and to treat others as you want to be treated,” said Kerr. His mother taught this lesson by example, selflessly caring for over 400 children from 1972 to 1989. Kerr took her advice to heart, and Econo West’s guarantee of fair, affordable pricing and courteous service was the result.
Today Econo West Heating & Air Conditioning has grown to a crew of 20 employees, some of whom have been with the company for over 10 years. Growing the company has allowed Kerr to provide superior workmanship and service to a larger customer base, while continuing to uphold the company’s founding ideals of honest, personalized service that meets the unique needs of each customer. Having more technicians is especially helpful because it allows for faster, more responsive service in the event that a customer has an HVAC emergency.
